While doing my research on Mexico City, most of the articles that came up said that Mexico City was like a foodie's paradise. I can now say, those articles were sooooo right. Except that, I’m a vegetarians, and it’s extremely hard to find street food, especially tacos that offer vegetarian options. If you are not a vegetarian, try as much different type of tacos you can, cause those pork tacos looked AMAZING. But if you’re like me, let me give a hand on what to try in different parts of the city.

Taquerias are literally everywhere. It can sometimes be really hard to find one that offer tacos without meat. I thought I could have tacos with beans or fried veggies, but that just isn’t an option for most places. During my first few days, all I ate were cheese quesadillas, which is okay I guess, but it wasn’t really filling me up and satisfying my appetite.

Have you ever tried cactus though? YES, CACTUS. It’s actually called Nopales con queso (Cactus with cheese), and it’s amazing. They give you tortillas and you can add up to 5 types of hot sauces (be careful, they are REALLY hot). It's like nothing I ever tasted before. Even if you are not a vegetarians, you should try Nopales.

The only vegetarian restaurant I actually ate at, and it did not disappoint. As I mentioned above, I had a really hard time finding vegetarians option that were filling me up. But this restaurant was a vegetarian’s  heaven. It’s a tiny, cozy bistro type restaurant that offers vegan option on most of their plates, artisanal beers and good coffee. If you need a place to work online, it’s a great place to try too.

I just had to include a pizza place in here. If you know me, you know I can’t go a week without a pizza, and Pizzas Nosferatu was one of the best options I tried. My new friend and I just stumbled upon this place and as soon as they said that they had wine, we were sold to the idea. I want to mention that it’s not all restaurants that offers wine. This place was a win win situation. They have a lot of vegetarians pizzas options (we split the mushroom and cheese one), and they are big enough that one pizza can be enough for two.

I didn’t actually have diner here, I only ordered appetizers between two meals, but let me just say, the Fish, Shrimp and Chips appetizer was to die for. The sauce with the fried seafood plus the little lime juice; so gooooood. We picked this place because it had a really nice 3rd floor terrasse and offered artisanal beer, which now I really like. (I’m not much of a beer drinker, but Zorra was good enough that I took two.)
