Top 4 reasons why you should go to Taormina, Sicily

1- The Etna Volcano

This active volcano is the second highest volcano in Europe. I do not suggest going anywhere close to the volcano, since it is one of the most active one in the world, but you get a pretty amazing view from Taormina. I went during sunrise and it was amazing. My pictures don’t do it justice, I promise.

2- The Isolla Bella beach water*

Okay, to be honest, there's not much sand, it’s more like rocks, so please be careful and wear flip flops or whatever, but as for the ocean, it’s AMAZING. The water is so clear and refreshing, it’s almost turquoise. Little Tips: you have to go down about 1000 stairs to get to the beach, which isn’t so bad, but don't underestimate the climb back; I thought is was going to die. Do yourself a favor, and make sure the cable cars work before you go walking down those stairs. You will thank me :)

3- The town and it’s small shops

Try to book yourself a day to just walk around town and eat amazing food. The streets are narrow but charming, and you can get lost for hours trying to find the perfect spot to have coffee. I would definitely recommend people watching, I don't know about you, but I love just sitting on a terrasse and watch the people walk by. Also, try to visit the many churches as you can, some of them are incredible. To conclude, Sicily has such a different vibe than the rest of Italy, Trust me, you will never want to leave from this place.

4- Stay at Hostel Taormina

During my first solo trip to Italy, I decided to stop in Taormina, Sicily for about 2 days. I can honestly say that Hostel Taormina was one of my favorite hostel from my Italy trip. The vibe from the people that worked there was super friendly, the ambiance of the traveller was great and the terrace was amazing! Now I can’t really comment on the comfort of the sleeping arrangement because I had too much fun to notice… but from what I can remember, I thought it was fine ;). If you are looking for a good time and meeting cool people, you definitely should stay here.
